*~Q&A~*

Q: What were Nadia and Garin like as children?

A: Garin was quietly rebellious, and got into quite a bit of trouble! This trouble includes, but is not limited to: sneaking up on his master, inventing his own version of the ‘whoopie cushion’ which he had quite a bit of fun with, ‘losing’ every itchy wool cloak his master bought him so that he could borrow his master’s soft cloak, and sneaking up on the girls his age so he could tie their braids together. When he was a teenager, he found it much easier to set the old wool cloaks on fire, rather than try to find a homeless person to give them to, as he had originally been doing. Once his master caught him burning the most recent cloak, he caved, and decided the soft cloak was less expensive in the long run. He never did figure out the whoopie cushion though.

A: Nadia has always ever been a firecracker! When she was young she was a little bit shy, but never would tolerate seeing anyone getting picked on and often would get into fights. Her mother tried her hardest to raise Nadia to be a lady, teaching her to sew but never teaching her how to cook. This explains why Nadia cannot cook in the beginning chapters of her life alone with Garin. Nadia once had a fascination with hunting and camping, and tried to camp out on her own many times, setting her own fires. This caused her to singe her hair one time and it used to be incredibly short. In her teenage years, Nadia eventually mellowed out, taking her sewing more seriously. She had many boyfriends and suitors, including a young prince at the time who took interest in her.
